Let’s Talk is a speech-pathologist-led communication and social engagement group designed specifically for older adults both with AND without communication deficits.
We meet weekly for engaging activities, games, and discussions about anything from personal memories, current events, and plenty of topics in between.
Since Let’s Talk is led by a speech-language pathologist, participants receive expert support from Leah, an SLP trained in communication, cognition, and neurological conditions, ensuring that every activity is both engaging and appropriate for all members, regardless of their cognitive/ language abilities. Activities are developed with both evidence-based research and clinical expertise to encourage, support, and maximize one’s communication ability.
The environment is designed to feel like a natural social hangout, while still facilitating structured opportunities to strengthen language, memory, attention, problem-solving, and safety awareness.
Social isolation is a common challenge for older adults, especially those with cognitive impairments or language deficits, and research shows that regular, meaningful social engagement can significantly support cognitive and emotional health.
The mission is to provide older adults—both with and without communication challenges—a welcoming and truly enjoyable place to communicate, connect with others, and support cognitive wellness in a natural, social environment.
